Le Causse

The Causse d’Anglars, a family excursion.

An exceptional area in terms of both landscape and ecology, the “Gorges de l’Aveyron, causses proches et vallée de la Vère” site is part of the NATURA 2000 network. To this end, an educational tool has been set up, entitled “Interpretation trail of the Causse d’Anglars”. In addition to the trail, a small guide has been produced for the general public.

The Midi-Quercy region has a preserved natural environment: causse, gorges, hillsides, terraces, meadows and hedgerows with a wide variety of flora and fauna.
This area is also a Mecca for history, heritage, gastronomy and outdoor activities.

History and heritage with humans trace dating back to the prehistoric times, medieval cites, bastides, pigeon lofts and mill. You can also enjoy the gastronomy with the Wines of the Coteaux du Quercy, cheese, saffron and many others flavors to discover on the markets of St-Antonin Noble Val and Caussade.

For the more sporty, there are various hiking routes (the smallest ones to the GR), canoe and mountain bike hire companies, climbing guides, potholing and paragliding centres and horse riding centres are available for active weekends with family or friends.
