The cycling route

Aveyron Valley and Gorges

A true concentration of the Tarn-et-Garonne awaits you along this route, starting with Montauban, the city of Ingres adorned with pink, passing through the Montalban plains and its agricultural crops, then following the Aveyron surrounded by steep cliffs in a preserved nature.

On the second half of the route, you can discover the medieval villages of Montricoux, Bruniquel, Penne, Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, Varen and Laguépie.

With a length of 85km, the Cycling Route of the Aveyron Valley and Gorges allows you to discover many of the highlights of the Tarn-et-Garonne by bike thanks to its signposted itinerary, which uses roads that are not very busy. A must-see!

The Two Seas Canal

The Canal des Deux Mers greenway in Tarn-et-Garonne runs along the towpaths of the Canal de Garonne and offers a magnificent route under its tall plane trees. Take a ride alone, in pairs or with your family on this safe route, which is accessible to all, and discover the heritage that has been built up over the years along the Canal.

You will pass through Montech where you can stop to discover its famous water slope. Passing through Moissac, you will discover the magnificent Pont-Canal du Cacor, a real architectural achievement allowing the Canal to literally span the river Tarn. This will be an opportunity to stop in town to admire the Cloister of Moissac, a UNESCO listed heritage site, and its exceptional Abbey Church, which makes it an essential stop on the Pilgrim’s Way to Santiago de Compostela.

After a good day’s cycling, numerous accommodations and restaurants located along the canal await you for an evening of relaxation and gastronomic discoveries
