When she took up her pen, Marie Cheyenne could not envisage any other way
to express oneself only through song with text.
Halfway between Joan Baez and a dog punk, this pale face borrows
to the Amerindians a name to affirm their humanist revolt, with in its guitar
songs “like caresses or fists in the face”*.
* “where did I put my gun” by Renaud!
On stage, it's a bit as if Brassens met Woodie Guthrie in a skirt,
turned into a clown, smoked a cigarette with Django and ended up sending everything flying
in a great burst of laughter. And that feels good!
