Conférence -concert : les collections MOROZOV et CHTCHOUKINE

How could the Monet, Renoir, Sisley, Pissarro, Cézanne, Impressionists, but also the Fauves, the Cubists, the Nabis be able to influence the painters of the Russian Avant-Garde such as Goncharova, Larionov, Chagall, Malevich so well? And they, in turn, give inspiration to Western painters? Thanks to two formidable Moscow collectors with a worldwide reputation: Ivan Morozov and Sergei Shchukin. They owned the most beautiful paintings painted in France.

Jean-Claude Menou, art historian and general heritage curator, will present these great works and will personify the great Ukrainian painter Ilia Repin, lover of France, astonished by the strange productions of his young colleagues from the Russian Avant-Garde.
