The story begins in the 12th century with the arrival of Cistercian monks who built the Grandselve Abbey, the most influential in the Southwest of France during the Middle Ages. Today recognized as a protected designation of origin (PDO), the Saint-Sardos vineyard, located on the left bank of the Garonne River, spans 130 hectares of vines (110 of which are vinified at the cooperative). Jean-Claude Delpech, owner of the Domaine de la Tucayne, is the only independent winemaker in the AOP Saint-Sardos appellation. A ninth-generation winemaker, passionate and convinced of the potential of his terroirs, Jean-Claude Delpech built his winery in 1998. Now an independent winemaker, he can combine his passion with his ethics to produce wines that are true reflections of their terroirs, without enological cosmetics. For the past eight years, he has been working with Sébastien Almendros, a Franco-Swiss oenologist, and together they invite you to discover their range of wines.
