Katy Becchia Sala spent her childhood and adolescence in several mining areas of the South and Southwest. The mine has strongly influenced a serie of paintings, done in oil. These works will be exhibited at Moissac, Carmaux (81), Museum of Cagnac Mines (81) and Decazeville between 2006 and 2008. Three of these paintings will be honored at the Salon d'Automne of Albi and the international exhibition of Clairac.Still today, Katy Becchia Sala' work deals with social issues in which she paints the inhumanityof of this century. She is fascinated by another technique: the pastel she uses to depict clouds which are a generous and subtle source of inspiration for her.Nothing moves her more than the threatening movement of an inky sky, a movement that she continues in her pastels of elongated formats where the sky transcends the anecdotal terrestrial space. No message here. We let ourselves be carried by the clouds and the journey continues well beyond the window that the painter opens to us.Katy Becchia Boudou Sala lives near Moissac, where she continued her heavenly work.
