  • The arches of the Bridge Napoleon opened to traffic in 1826. It was built at the request of Napoleon I during his visit to Moissac.Under the bridge Napoleon are the former millers townhouses (18th century), here was the Old Port from where barges went laden with grain, flour and wine, transported by the river Tarn and the river Garonne to the sea, they crossed the ocean to the United States and Canada. In total 500 children were hidden and saved by Shatta & Simon Bouli with the complicity of the people of Moissac.
